I’m so grateful to God for another year of life, for the blessings I have, and for the people who surround me.
My beautiful wife Lori, and my wonderful sons, Asher and Arthur are such incredible blessings in my life.
Their love and support remind me daily of God’s grace and the importance of family.
But while my birthday was so filled with celebration, laughter, and joy…
I find myself reflecting on something much deeper.
I can’t help but think of the memories I have from when I was last in Kenya...
Seeing the faces of people growing thinner from hunger...
And watching their muscles and bones painfully wither…day by day.
I keep asking myself, "How can I be here, fully enjoying my birthday, when I personally know children in Kenya are likely going without food today?"
And this weighs SO heavily on my heart.
As I sit in my house writing this to you… I’m overwhelmed with emotion.
My mind is pacing, replaying the moment I held this precious yet frail baby in my arms.
His tiny body was so weak…yet his eyes were still filled with hope…
And today I’m hoping…praying…that he’s still alive.
But deep down, I know that with the state I last saw him in… the worst could be the case.
Tragically his mother died giving birth to him only a couple of months before this photo. She died from malnournishment. It was all 100% preventable.
This baby would have had a loving mother in his life if she only had enough food in that moment in time.
In moments like these, I turn to God’s Word for comfort and guidance.
I remember Matthew 25:40, which says...
"Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me."
This verse reminds me that we are called to be the hands and feet of Jesus—to care for those in need, to lift up the weary, and to bring hope where there is despair...
And when we care for those in need, we are not just helping them…we are serving God Himself.
Today, more than anything, my birthday wish is to give these precious lives the support they so desperately need.
You might be asking..."But why, Jonathan? Why would you want to do that on YOUR birthday?"
Because I realize that living in a country like the U.S., it’s so easy to take things for granted.
Clean water. A warm bed. A full plate of food.
We get SO used to our comforts that we forget—they’re not guaranteed for everyone.
Here, birthdays are filled with cake, laughter, and gifts.
But in Kenya, I’ve seen people whose only wish is a simple meal.
For many people I encountered there…I saw that their ribs pressed against their fragile skin… and their bodies were growing weaker each day.
And the thought of this still breaks my heart right till this very moment.
How can I sit here, surrounded by abundance, when I know there are families on the other side of the world praying for just one more day of survival?
That’s why, today, I want to use my birthday for something greater than myself.
As humbling as it is…
The people in Kenya still depend on you and me to see the next few months of their lives.
The government is SO overwhelmed that the country has still not recovered from the effects of the floods that happened last year… followed by a horrific drought…
It will take them years to recover…if ever.
That’s why I keep saying that we can never stop giving….and NEVER stop reaching out.
There will always be more we can do, and if I can remind you…
Back in May 2024, we set the target to save at least 150,000 Kenyans from starvation…
And while we’ve made good progress…and I can’t thank YOU enough for that…
We haven’t quite hit the target just yet…
But this can still be achieved if we continue to stretch out our hands and hearts to those in need.
Our previous efforts have made a huge difference, but 2024 was truly a very challenging year for Kenya all-round…
And up till date, there still lies more challenges ahead of the road for this nation.
The Famine Early Warning Systems Network (FEWS NET) warned at the end of last year…
That food security in Kenya was becoming even worse, especially in the pastoral areas of Turkana, Marsabit, and Garissa counties.
The October to December short rains, which are important for local farming and livestock, were absolutely below average.
This has made things even harder for families who depend on farming and livestock for their food.
And as we speak, ReliefWeb says as of the end of January 2025, there are an estimated 61.6 million food-insecure people in Eastern Africa (where Kenya is).
The lack of sufficient rain means that there is little pasture for animals, and livestock herds are smaller than usual.
This, combined with the poor condition of the animals, has led to SERIOUS problems in these regions.
Many households have been forced to skip meals constantly just to get by.
People are struggling to meet their basic food needs.
The result for Kenyans has been devastating… and they NEED our continuous help now more than ever before.
In this season, I just think about all the blessings I have in my life…
And I can’t even begin to imagine the fear of not having enough food to eat or any solutions.
As the months pass, many families in these areas will be facing a crisis, with few resources left to survive.
This is where we come in.
We know how much our contributions have helped so far…but there’s still SO much more to do.
There are many families whose survival depends on us continuing to give and show compassion.
Kenyans are in a terrifying situation, knowing that starvation is a possibility for themselves and their families.
The situation is truly heartbreaking, and we need to continue to uphold this nation until it gets back on its feet.
The good news is that there’s something huge that we can do TOGETHER to continue to help even in this season.
This will help the Kenyans to establish agricultural productivity…
Which is key to safeguarding their livelihoods amidst these major challenges.
But we need to act now; the faster we act, the more lives we can save together…
Before this drought season hits its peak.
I am getting many messages from my trusted sources on the ground in Northern Kenya about the utter devastation that is unfolding before their eyes…
And these are wonderful people like William Etubon our project manager, who often gives up his own meal to feed someone who needs it more.
The request is simple… if there is anything you can give, please do so… as it will literally save lives.
I am writing this to every person I know to join me again to save lives in Kenya…
Through the King's Ransom Foundation and my Kenyan Charitable Foundation, Heartache to Hope: Feed Africa Project…
Which is based in Kenya.
100% of these funds will go DIRECTLY to providing all the agricultural tools they need to replenish their food supplies and become a sustainable farming community again…
And, in turn, help bring money back into these communities.
For just $72, you can give a farmer a large bag of corn seeds weighing about 53 pounds.
This bag is divided into smaller bags and distributed to many farmers.
Also, with only $600, we can give 500 farmers seeds to grow 50,000 watermelons!
On average, one farmer represents ten family members.
So that small investment is helping 5,000 people!
Watermelons are also used to sell as they have a market value of $3-5 dollars US per melon…
Which allows families to have income to send their children to school and even university.
With a $1,000 donation of corn seeds, we can help 2,700 farmers, which is helping 27,000 people in total!
A gift of $3,000 lets us send seeds for cowpeas to 1,500 farmers.
That’s around 15,000 people helped with nutritious and healing food!
Cowpeas seeds are more expensive than corn seeds… but are important for nutrition and their market value when it comes to families selling their produce.
We also give farmers and their families a variety of seeds to help them in various ways.
In addition, if we spend $3,600, we can buy 600 tools for 600 people, supporting 6,000 people!
So whether it's 5 dollars, 20 dollars, 50 dollars, 100 dollars, 500 dollars, or 1000 dollars or more... this saves lives.
Your money can stretch so far for emergency relief and long-term self-sustainability.
This is all very time specific. Trying to help too late just means disaster and suffering. It needs to be now.
Every penny we raise today, we will send tomorrow… and ongoing the response will be the same.
Your funds will be immediately deployed.
And there’s a reason for that.
When you watch this video giving our latest update, in this extended exclusive video you will see precious people, like the woman who told me of our husband and daughter dying due to starvation, and the words hit me hard in my gut
She said, “I can’t help but think, what if you had of been sooner, and helped us as you are helping everyone now… would I still have my beloved husband and daughter with me now?”
Her eyes told me a chilling story of the hardness of life she had been dealt and that every word she spoke was unfortunately true.
And watching my own mother witness all these scenes I share with you, only a couple of months ago, as you can see in the video, is something that brings to eyes right now as all these memories flash through my mind.
As we continue to strive to hit our goals, we will save approximately 150,000 men, women, and children from starvation.
Right now, just over the coming days, we are going to raise an additional $100,000 and between other leaders in our space, like Nathan Crane Conquering Cancer, Manny Goldman with Cause Health, Shanda Sumpter with HeartCore Business, and more, and a big part of that will come from myself with Health Secret & Well of Life as we will be matching your donations with an additional $100,000!
That means every dollar you give will become TWO dollars!
Only for this fast-action campaign right now to save lives which is happening now.
Already, our previous contributions since the month of May have helped some families grow drought-resistant crops…
That will go a long way in helping them as they brace themselves for the WORST to come.
But many other families weren’t fortunate enough to get our help because of the overwhelming scale of need and the limited resources available.
But there IS still hope.
Together, we can make sure that no one is left behind.
Your generosity has already made a real difference…but the road ahead is long…
And the need is greater than ever.
Every single donation…no matter the amount…brings us one step closer to saving lives and restoring hope to families in Kenya.
Also, to deepen the impact of your donation, I will be be giving matching donations from the profits we have earned from Health Secret, Well of Life and Red Life.
So every 1 dollar becomes 2 dollars! Your $50 becomes $100. Your $500 becomes $1,000!
On my birthday I find joy in thinking of what I can give, not what I can get.
I have everything I need. My children don’t go to bed crying because they are hungry. These parents have to deal with the pain of seeing their children in that desperate state every single day.
We are so close to our target… I know we can hit it!
Today, can you please help me reach my target?
Giving is living, and no one would suffer like this if we were all generous, and put each others needs in front of our own.
These people need us now more than ever…
We can’t afford to slow down.
The hunger and suffering that so many are facing is heart-wrenching, but we can be a part of their solution.
With your help…
We will continue to provide food, tools, and the resources needed for sustainable farming.
In this season of gratitude, let's make sure that we extend our blessings to those who need them most.
Your contribution will not only provide immediate relief but will also give families the opportunity to rebuild and thrive in the long run.
The time is now, we don’t have much time to avert this disaster. The child in this last photo – and every child in these regions – is counting on you and me to hear their cry.
The government is saturated with the immense and overwhelming need, and there is no help from them or any other organizations in these areas.
It’s only you and me.
That’s the sad truth, and it’s also a true honor – to be a hero to the orphans, the widows, and the strong-spirited men and women who don’t need a handout; they need a hand up,
So they can provide for their families with the emergency relief and the long-term sustainable solutions we are providing them through seeds and farming tools.
These initiatives are setting thousands of people free from the yoke of starvation as we speak… but we can’t leave a single soul behind.
Thousands more need our help, and they need us to act today, not tomorrow, with whatever we can help them with.
